Science you can see, touch and explore.
We design and build hands-on science installations that complement classroom learning and bring science concepts into everyday spaces across a school. They are practical to operate, robust, and designed to fit different spaces without requiring a large budget or a large space.
The installations give students an opportunity to see, touch and explore concepts for themselves. Teachers can use the models to support their lessons and help students make connections and discover how the underlying concepts work.
A range of hands-on science models.
Our installations cover Mechanics, Sound, Light and Mathematics, with concepts that connect to the school curriculum. Students can explore these ideas through physical interaction, observation and experimentation.
Each installation is supported by simple, easy to understand explanatory signages that show students how to interact with the model, explain the principle behind it, and connect the idea to everyday applications.
Designed for schools.
Built to last.
Science installations need to support teaching, easy to use and robust enough for everyday school life. Our experience of running DoScience has helped us design models that teachers can use in the classroom, and students can return to, experiment with and explore in their own way.
Built using mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel, our installations are designed for rigorous use, require little maintenance and are made to last. They can fit into a physics lab, corridor, library or common space – bringing hands-on science into everyday school life.
Science as public art.
Science installations are also public art – bringing movement, interaction and curiosity into the places people pass through every day.
We design and build large installations for parks, traffic islands, street corners and other public spaces. These are visually engaging in their own right, while also giving people an opportunity to stop, interact and discover a science concept.
A well-placed installation creates a small moment of curiosity and learning, thus becoming part of the social infrastructure.
